Find the perfect hotel for weekend breaks in London and Edinburgh

Some people like to get as far away as possible from their home and the stresses of their everyday lives when booking a holiday, but there are many tourist destinations within the UK that offer just as much if not more than destinations further afield. Two cities in particular offer visitors a great weekend break, with London and Edinburgh both great holiday destinations whether you are booking a holiday as a couple or a family, and both are full of a wide range of tourist attractions for visitors to enjoy.

London is a vibrant, multicultural city and if you want to be able to choose from a number of cheap hotels, London will leave you spoilt for choice. The capital city is a hub of activity, which could be regarded as a negative attribute if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing city break, but there are areas of London that you can escape from the crowds in and you can relax in the various parks as well. London is a world leader in many forms of entertainment and visitors certainly won’t be left with a lack of things to do during a holiday to the British capital.

From London’s West End which is regarded as the home of modern theatre, to the huge amount of quality music venues such as the O2 Arena, every night you can find high quality arts and entertainment performances that will suit everyone’s needs. In the heart of London you will also find a number of Michelin star restaurants that serve delicious food from a number of different cuisines, and the city’s bars and thriving nightlife will fulfil anyone’s need to let their hair down.

If you are looking to book a hotel in Edinburgh rather than London and want to have a slightly more relaxing holiday then the Scottish capital is an ideal destination for a weekend break. Depending on the time of year in which you visit the Scottish city though, there are a number of events and parties for visitors to enjoy. From the Edinburgh festival, a comedy event that runs throughout August, to Hogmanay and Burns Night, Scottish people certainly know how to have a good celebration and their parties are something to behold.

When it comes to choosing from the hundred Edinburgh hotels that are available, through you will be able to find the perfect accommodation for your getaway. The city is steeped in culture and hotels are available within the beautiful countryside that surrounds Edinburgh, but as with a visit to any Scottish destination the weather is unpredictable and a holiday in which the sun is shining throughout can never be guaranteed.

During the recession in which economic times are tough, a trip to a UK holiday destination may well just be the perfect solution. London and Edinburgh both have their perks, but in general the English city offers visitors a huge amount of tourist attractions to enjoy, whereas the Scottish city is slightly more suited to those people looking for a relaxing break. Great value hotels and accommodation can be found for both locations at and it is down to you to choose which of the rival capitals your ideal holiday destination is.
